ॐ गं गणपतये नम:।

अक्षरं परमं ब्रह्म ज्योतीरूपं सनातनम्।

निराकारं स्वेच्छामयमनन्तजम्॥

कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन।

मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भुर्मा ते संगोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥[श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता 2.47]

ऋग्वेद संहिता, चतुर्थ मण्डल सूक्त (57) :: ऋषि :- वामदेव, गौतम, देवता :- क्षेत्रपति आदि, छन्द :- अनुष्टुप्, त्रिष्टुप्, उष्णिक्।

क्षेत्रस्य पतिना वयं हितेनेव जयामसि।

गामश्वं पोषयित्न्वा स नो मृळातीदृशे॥

हम याजक गण मित्र के समान क्षेत्रपति के साथ क्षेत्रों को विजित करें। वे हम लोगों की गौओं और अश्वों को पुष्टि प्रदान करें। वे देव हम लोगों को उक्त प्रकार से दातव्य धन देकर हर्षित करें।[ऋग्वेद 4.57.1]

With the master of the land, our friend, we triumph; may he bestow upon us cattle, horses, nourishment and  make us happy.

Let the Ritviz share-divide the land with the master-owner. They should nourish our cows, horses. The demigods-deities grant us wealth and make us happy.

क्षेत्रस्य पते मधुमन्तमूर्मिं धेनुरिव पयो अस्मासु धुक्ष्व।

मधुश्चुतं घृतमिव सुपूतमृतस्य नः पतयो मृळयन्तु॥

हे क्षेत्रपति देव! गौ जिस प्रकार से दुग्ध प्रदान करती है, उसी प्रकार से आप मधुस्रावी, सुपवित्र, घृत तुल्य और माधुर्य युक्त प्रभूत जल प्रदान करें। यज्ञ के स्वामी हम लोगों को सुखी करें।[ऋग्वेद 4.57.2]

Hey Dev-master of land! Grant us sufficient water, which is as good as honey, Ghee, sweet, pure. Let the deity of the Yagy comfort us.

मधुमतीरोषधीर्द्याव आपो मधुमन्नो भवत्वन्तरिक्षम्।

क्षेत्रस्य पतिर्मधुमान्नो अस्त्वरिष्यन्तो अन्वेनं चरेम॥

ब्रीहि और प्रियंगु आदि औषधियाँ हम लोगों के लिए मधु युक्त हों। तीनों द्युलोक, जल समूह और अन्तरिक्ष हम लोगों के लिए मधु युक्त हों। क्षेत्रपति हम लोगों के लिए मधु युक्त हो। हम शत्रुओं द्वारा अहिंसित होकर उनका अनुगमन करें।[ऋग्वेद 4.57.3]

May the herbs-Ayur Vedic medicines be sweet for us; may the heavens, the waters, the firmament, be kind to us; may the deity  o the land be gracious to us; let us, undeterred by foes, have recourse to him.

Let the herbs-medicines called Brihi & Piynagu should we stuffed with honey. The heavens, water bodies and the space-sky should have honey. Kshetr Pati-demigod should possess honey. We should follow them saved-protected from the enemy.

Honey here specify pleasure, happiness. 

शुनं वाहाः शुनं नरः शुनं कृषतु लाङ्गलम्।

शुनं वरत्रा बध्यन्तां शुनमष्ट्रा मुदिङ्गय॥

अश्व आदि वाहन हमारे लिए हर्षकारी हों। मनुष्य गण सुख पूर्वक कृषि कार्य करें। सुख पूर्वक हल को खेतों में चलायें। हल के जुवे सुख पूर्वक बाँधे जायँ और चाबुक भी मधुरता के साथ प्रयुक्त हों।[ऋग्वेद 4.57.4] 

बैलों का जूआ :: yoke. 

चाबुक :: कोड़ा, whip, lash, scourge.

Horses etc. used for moving-travel be pleasant-beneficial to us. Let the humans perform agriculture comfortably. Plough-cultivate the fields comfortably. Let the yoke be placed over the neck of the bullocks, softly-comfortably and the lash-whip may be used dearly.

शुनासीराविमां वाचं जुषेथां यद्दिवि चक्रथुः पयः। तेनेमामुप सिञ्चतम्॥

हे शुना और सीर! आप दोनों हमारी इस प्रार्थना को श्रवण करें। आप दोनों ने धुलोक में जिस जल को उत्पन्न किया है, उसी के द्वारा इस पृथ्वी को सिंचित करें।[ऋग्वेद 4.57.5]

Hey Shuna & Seer! Listen-respond to our prayers. The manner in which you created water in the space-sky, irrigate the earth similarly.

अर्वांची सुभगे भव सीते वन्दामहे त्वा।

यथा नः सुभगाससि यथा नः सुफलाससि॥

हे सौभाग्यवती सीते! आप हमारे ऊपर अनुकम्पा करने वाली होवें। हम आपकी प्रार्थना करते हैं। आप हम लोगों को सुन्दर धन प्रदान करें और सुन्दर फल दें। इसलिए हम आपकी वन्दना करते हैं।[ऋग्वेद 4.57.6]

शुभ सीता, तुम निकट आओ! हम तुम्हारी वंदना और पूजा करते हैं ताकि तुम हमें आशीर्वाद दो और समृद्ध करो और हमें प्रचुर मात्रा में फल दो।

सीता उर्वरता देवी हैं और उनकी पूजा की जाती है।

(अथर्ववेद के कौशिका सूत्र में सीता का उल्लेख पर्जन्य की पत्नी  में किया गया है। शुक्ल यजुर्वेद के पारस्कर गृह्य सूत्र में एक अन्य सीता के बारे में बताया गया है, जो इंद्र कि पत्नी हैं।)

Hey lucky Seete-the goddess of fertility! Bless us. We worship you. Grant us pleasant wealth & rewards.

इन्द्रः सीतां नि गृह्णातु तां पूषानु यच्छतु।

सा नः पयस्वती दुहामुत्तरामुत्तरां समाम्॥

इन्द्र देव हल की मुठ सँभालें। पूषा उस सीता को नियमित करें। वे उदकवती द्यौ संवत्सर के उत्तर संवत्सर में सस्य दोहन करें।[ऋग्वेद 4.57.7]

सस्य :: अनाज, पौधों, वृक्षों आदि का उत्पादन; produce food grains, fruits, trees, herbs etc.

सीता :: वनदेवी, भगवान् श्री राम की पत्नी, माँ लक्ष्मी की अवतार; goddess-deity of the forests-jungles. 

Let Indr Dev hold the plow handle. Let Pusha regularise Seeta-goddess-deity of the forests-jungles. Let them produce food grains, fruits, trees, herbs etc. through out the year.

शुनं नः फाला वि कृषन्तु भूमिं शुनं कीनाशा अभि यन्तु वाहैः।

शुनं पर्जन्यो मधुना पयोभिः शुनासीरा शुनमस्मासु धत्तम्॥

फाल (भूमि विदारक काष्ठ) सुख पूर्वक भूमि कर्षण करें। रक्षक गण बैलों के साथ अभिगमन करें। पर्जन्य मधुर जल द्वारा पृथ्वी को सिक्त करें। हे शुन, सीर (इन्द्र-वायु या वायु-आदित्य), हम लोगों को सुख प्रदान करें।[ऋग्वेद 4.57.8]

हल का फाल  :: लकड़ी या लोहे का बना हल का वह नुकीला हिस्सा जो खेत की भूमि में घुसकर उसे खोलता है ; ploughshares, coulter.

Let the plough shares-coulter open the soil easily. The protectors-farmers should move with the oxen-bulls. Let the clouds irrigate the soil. Hey Indr dev & Adity Dev-Sun grant comforts to us.(09.05.2023)
